Tights: dance&thought – 4th Annual Conference | Calling the Art World: Ritual at the End of a World

31.12.2021

Please join us for the 4th Annual Conference of “Tights: dance&thought.” The title of this year’s edition poses the question “How do we end a world?”; at the end of this unique year, the aim of the conference is to bluntly reflect on our contemporaneity and sense of future by performing an intellectual choreography, essential for this epistemological leap and deep adaptation towards its coming. Furthermore, this gathering will focus on how to “end things” without falling into a discourse rooted in the idea of extinction and its romanticisation. Scholars Dr. Michal Givoni and Eliran Arazi, choreographer Ido Feder and artists Ana WildMichal Helfman, and Jonathan Omer Mizrahi will take us on a journey exploring contemporary political rituals, post-activist emotions, and indigenous lessons on communicating with non-human; this journey will aim at deducing new ideas about the potentiality of rituals as both a relief and an alarm call to the cultural field, to think about its practice, vision, and future.

The event will be held in Hebrew, for the full program click here.
