“Though it’s dark, still I sing”

Carla Zaccagnini presents the 34th Bienal de São Paulo

Freely inspired by the reflections of thinkers such as Édouard Glissant and Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, the 34th Bienal de São Paulo is structured around the concept of “relations,” and states that it is necessary to abandon narrow and monolithic viewpoints to become open to the multiplicity of possible relations under constant evolution. Artist Carla Zaccagnini, guest curator of the 34th Bienal de São Paulo – working with a team including Jacopo Crivelli Visconti (chief curator), Paulo Miyada (adjunct curator), Francesco Stocchi and Ruth Estévez (guest curators with Zaccagnini) and Elvira Dyangani Ose (curator for publications) – will share her point of view and her topic of research in connection to the biennial, which will start from February 8, 2020 with a solo show of Ximena Garrido-Lecca and a performance by Neo Muyanga, followed by other shows through the year and a group show opening on September 5.
