On the Migratory Creative Practice

Lives Between – A Triple Artist Talk with Dana Levy, Ella Littwitz and Enrique Ramírez

Sunday, September 3, 7pm

Artists have always been intermediaries – both between social classes and often also with social groups. They belong to the migrating elites, often flocking to cultural and economic centers far from their homeland to profit from exposure and contact with other artists, a more sophisticated public, and a more robust market. What imprint does such migration have on an artistic practice? What does it mean to create work about a place you don’t fully belong to any longer? As an artist, can you ever really flee from your own biography? Three artists from “Lives Between,” — Dana Levy, Elle Littwitz and Enrique Ramírez – will address these questions in a triple artist talk.

The event will be held in English.
