La Collectiz!: The School

The Center for Contemporary Art Tel Aviv is pleased to announce “The School” by La Collectiz!. During the month of November, the CCA’s multi-purpose gallery will become a school in which participants explore, study, and refer to themes and methods employed by choreographers who explore space, both physical and conceptual, in connection with the field of contemporary art: from the white cube to the museum, from the gallery to the recurring exhibition.
Students of “The School” will study the work of Marten Spangberg, Alexandra Pirici, Maria Hassabi, Tino Sehgal, Anne Himhof, and more through sessions led by Lilach Livne and Ido feder. Additional guest lectures will be led by Michal Helfman, Lior Avizoor, Robert Steijn and Marten Spangberg (on Skype). Visitors will be invited to “attend” The School while it is taking place. They will be invited to observe and join the students in real time, following this schedule:

November 9 – 10 am to 2 pm – Practice time
November 14 – 2 to 7 pm – Studying Maria Hassabi
November 15 – 2 to 7 pm – Studying Marten Spangberg
November 16 – 10 am to 12 am – Lecture by Mårten Spångberg (Skype)
November 16 – 12 am to 2 pm – Performative session
November 21 – 2 to 7 pm – Studying Alexandra Pirici and working with the archive
November 22 – 2 to 7 pm – Studying Alexandra Pirici
November 23 – 10 am – 12 am – Lecture by Robert Steijn (Skype) November 23 – 12 am to 2 pm – “Snake Practice” and performative session
La Collectiz! is a group of dancers and choreographers directed by Ido Feder and Lilach Livne and focused on redefining the alphabet of contemporary dance and its current cross-pollination with the field of contemporary art. Its current members are: Bosmat Nossan, Ariel Cohen, Shira Eviatar, Ido Feder, and Lilach Livne.
